STAFFORDSHIRE UNIVERSITY

Who are they?

The Research at the Centre for Biomechanics and Rehabilitation Technologies (CBRT), led by Prof Roozbeh Naemi Professor Roozbeh Naemi - Staffordshire University (staffs.ac.uk), has a focus on Reducing the burden of diabetic foot disease by utilising biomechanical knowledge. This is a portfolio of research with a focus on the evidence-based foot assessment and insole prescription for preventing and treating diabetic foot ulcers.

Apart from the strong post graduate programs in the area of Clinical Biomechanics and Musculoskeletal Diagnosis, we offer several continuing professional development (CPD) workshop and training days in the areas of clinical biomechanics. We have a substantial track record of scientific publications and collaboration with researchers across various countries.

What did they do?

Roozbeh has considerable experience of participating and leading research projects with a focus on preventing and treating diabetic foot ulcers.

We have developed a new, unique approach to using ultrasound elastography to investigate the mechanical properties of the sole of the foot. We also have track record of creating impact through research in new biomechanical assessment protocols for at-risk patients and with new technologies for prescribing biomechanically informed insoles. Please contact Prof Roozbeh Naemi r.naemi@staffs.ac.uk for further information.
